Playlist: "Eclecticism" 11/16/2014

Boys Get Hurt - "Autumn Leaves"

I'm bringing you your mix a bit later in the week. Let's say we're celebrating the hump day. I'm a huge fan of Boys Get Hurt and how his music always has that air of the bittersweet ending to summer. The Tokyo-based producer has put together a mix for autumn that still has a sense of that warm weather flavor. There are a lot of great tracks including remixes from Klaves, Anoraak, and Poolside as well as some Boys Get Hurt tracks. Hopefully you're enjoying your week!

The Kickoff: JBAG - Asia Tour Mixtape

Continental Records label heads Jerry Bouthier and Andrea Gorgerino, JBAG, have a knack for playful, dreamy, and bouncy productions. I've been sort of stuck in that groove since the release of Boys Get Hurt's latest Your Love EP. The B-side track "Sea Through" appears in this JBAG mix. Along with a bunch of other upbeat and poppy tropical tracks, the boys have included their new single "Through Blue." Look for that to release this week. It features another favorite of the show, Kamp!

The Kickoff: Boys Get Hurt | Summer House ~ MIX4SWIM2 ~

Japanese producer Boys Get Hurt is a favorite of the show and a go-to for summer vibes. Associated often with French label Kitsuné, the cutesy, playful energy is simply irresistible. Later this week, Boys Get Hurt will be putting out a new EP to follow last month's Your Love EP. I plan to share the new EP this week, so keep an eye out. The playlist for this mix is also something to keep an eye out for, checkout the Summer House Facebook page.

Chela - Romanticise

Head over to Kitsuné and grab the new Chela EP! My first encounter with Chela was in last year's Goldroom track "Fifteen," which you can still download on SoundCloud. Her voice is so fresh and inviting. With the biological clock ticking on the summer of 2013, "Romanticise" is the perfect way to end things. Both the video and track are super playful, upbeat, and colorful. I can guarantee this will be on repeat. Check out the remixes from Gold Fields, Collarbones, Boys Get Hurt, Le Bruce, and Fascinator.

The Kickoff: Heart & Soul - Jerry Bouthier mixtape (6-13)

Monday turned out to be a total washout. Perhaps all the rain in New Jersey kept away any promising mixes. Redeeming the start to the week is Jerry Bouthier -- a fixture of the French label Kitsuné, the man with the hat cranking out these poppy, insanely fun and playful mixes, and a personal favorite. Bouthier's goal was to combine the dancefloor and the catwalk, so grab your tallest stilettos and get ready to dance.
