Mix Monday: Night People 2 Year Anniversary Mixtape (Mixed By Eli Escobar)
This Saturday, Night People celebrates their 2 year anniversary at Le Bain in New York. The night has a fantastic line up including Holy Ghost!, Lloydski, and Eli Ecobar. And if that's not convincing, listening to this mix will surely do the trick. It starts off with a cute little number from Holy Ghost!, then launches into storm of deep and disco house. There are some congrats and praises along the way from guests. Check out the facebook event page for all the details for the party. Now, it's time for dancing.

I'm way behind this week in getting this playlist up. My bad. This week we started a bit earlier to fill in for DJ Drifter. There is some more indie rock at the beginning and then we ease into things.

The Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs interview sounded great. I hope to have that available soon. Orlando Higginbottom had some interesting things to say. Here's the playlist from this week's show.

Finally, Holy Ghost!
Finally, I know it exists. I got my hands on the Holy Ghost! album today. I first heard about these guys from an iTunes free single of the week in 2007. Ever since then, I've been waiting for this to drop. It was worth the wait. Check out this track from the album. It's my favorite.
Just when you thought disco was dead, Holy Ghost! comes grooving back.
If you're in the New York City area, they'll be playing April 29th at Music Hall of Williamsburg. The Hundred in the Hands will also perform. They're another great duo who released their debut in September 2010. They also have a nice dreamy electro pop sound with disco influences. The best song on the album is probably "Commotion." It should be an awesome show.
