L'Étranger - Falling For You

With all the other goodies, I almost forgot this L'Étranger track came out today. Then he posted a little bit on facebook. Downloaded!  Originally, I was going to make a general post with a bunch of random songs that I downloaded today, but those are just going to be a little bonus at the end. The artwork for this is also great. It's better than the silly little disco heart I was going to use.)

Continue for some Valentine's Day downloads. I'll update the page if I find more.

Who Killed JR?

Who is JR?! Seriously, and why has he been killed? Maybe it's like that whole deal about how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop -- the world may never know. Anyway, today I came across Who Killed JR?, a remix duo from South Africa. Maybe it's something about this M83 song and how it plagues every aspect of my life with that squeaky vocal effect. It's so effin' brilliant. Every time I think it's gone, it comes back. This time, in the form of this remix by Who Killed JR?

Thoughts...: Justin Faust

Munich's Justin Faust has been lighting up the scene since 1992 with house records released on a variety of labels. I first heard Faust a couple of months ago. Not even 30 seconds into the track, I was sold. His music has beautiful lush synth accents over some nice disco beats. It's a recipe for awesome!

Faust has done some Grade A remixes of Daft Punk, kap10kurt, Edwin van Cleef, among others. He's even received some musical nods from Russ Chimes, a genius in my opinion.

Check out the preview of Faust's upcoming EP which will be released next month on Discotexas.

Thoughts...: Monsieur Adi

Another album to add to my summer wishlist. Monsieur Adi's Fire Fire Fire EP debuts in June. The EP features five original tracks, including "Last Stand," which features vocals by Gary Go. His voice goes perfectly with the layers of synths. I heard this track this afternoon, and I'm completely smitten with the harmonic and orchestral grandeur. I'm a fan of dramatic orchestral soundtracks, and electronic music tickles my fancy, so Monsieur Adi is a perfect fit. Daft Punk's TRON: Legacy soundtrack was a great addition to my music library, but I think Monsieur Adi could have given them a run for their money. I haven't seen the movies yet, but I imagine that Adi's music would do justice. Download below.
