The Kickoff: Grum Danny Howard Guest Mix on BBC Radio 1

Generally I'm not a fan of mini mixes, but I'm always a fan of Grum. I'm also game for hearing "Tears" as much as humanly possible. This little mix he guest DJ'd for BBC Radio 1 is jam-packed with some the the biggest, most energizing house music you've ever heard. Whenever I listen to Grum, it just sends my heart racing and everything going on has to be next level. That also includes dancing, so get ready to break out your serious moves.

Grum is supposed to have another album coming out this year. That's definitely going to be something to keep an eye and ear out for. I can't wait!

The Kickoff: Grum Above & Beyond Group Therapy Radio Guest Mix

One artist I've been excited to see on the circuit again is Grum. The British producer released his debut album Heartbeats four years ago, so it's about time we get something new. A few remixes and tracks have been popping up here and there, and his most recent single "Tears" appears in this mix. We're finally nearing the April 14th release date for the new album. Get ready.

Playlist: "Eclecticism" 10/30/2011

Happy Halloween! In honor of the holiday, I did a nice little spooky themed show. About half way through making it the playlist today, I decided to go about it as though I were making a soundtrack to my own hypothetical zombie movie. There's all the background story, the part where the zombies come to life unbeknownst to the town, then the zombies destroy town, and then the main characters start killing off the zombies without any trouble until someone gets hurt and dies. That happens around The Hundred in the Hands, and then the main characters take revenge and drive away to Grum after the zombie apocalypse. Enjoy the playlist!

Mix Monday: Christian Strobe - DJ Promo Mix 02

I forget when I first came across German dj/producer Christian Strobe, but I do remember the song that first caught my ears. "Midnight Call" is deep, hypnotic house track with some seriously intoxicating beats.

Christian Strobe's mix is the real focus of this post. The song selection for this mix is what got me. It's got some of my favorites by Russ Chimes, Digitalism, Grum, and Boys Noize, but it's also got some hidden gems. I found myself stopping this mix quite a few times. Check out the mix below and after the jump, I'll share my stopping points.
