Spring Cleaning: Eclecticism's Top Albums of 2013

Happy first day of spring! I had my top albums of 2013 list mostly finished, but kept "perfecting" it. Then it seemed like it was too late to post. Since spring cleaning is in full swing, I'm going to post it anyway. So let's take a trip back to 2013 and remember some fantastic tunes.

Chromeo - "Come Alive feat. Toro Y Moi (The Magician Remix)"

This Chromeo album is getting so much love. There's no word on a release date yet, but it's soon! Last week, I wrote a little piece for EARMILK on Le Youth's remix of Chromeo's new track with Toro Y Moi. Le Youth turned up the house energy for an irresistible dancefloor killer. Today, The Magician comes at us with his deep, laid back groove. Check out both of those below!

Toro Y Moi - Boiler Room Los Angeles Mix

Toro's on my mind. The new record is out, I got my ticket to one of the shows in New York, and I finally got to listen to this mix that's been an open tab in my browser for way too long. Nothing from the new album, Anything In Return, appears in the mix, but it definitely reflects how multifaceted Toro Y Moi's sound is. Usually I wouldn't hesitate to put Toro in my mental chillwave file, but this mix definitely delves into solid house territory. The new album does as well. It picks up right where the Freaking Out EP left off, yet still holds to that classic Toro Y Moi sound. Check it out! And, enjoy this mix!

Playlist: "Eclecticism" 9/11/2011

Before we get down to business, I just wanted to wish all the best to everyone who lost anyone on 9-11 [insert moment of silence]. I can't believe it's been 10 years. Everyone always says, "It seems like just yesterday," but it really does seem like it was just yesterday.

On a happier note, the beat doesn't stop. It simply keeps on coming. Hopefully tonight's show lightened up today's overall mood. The weather locally was a bit dreary, but these tracks are anything but dreary. Enjoy the list!

The Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs interview sounded great. I hope to have that available soon. Orlando Higginbottom had some interesting things to say. Here's the playlist from this week's show.
