The Kickoff: Isaac Tichauer - December 2014 Mix

You guys all know how I feel about my Isaac Tichauer, so no surprise I'm sharing his new December mix. Amid all the last-minute Christmas shopping stress, this is a nice little treat to soothe your soul. It's mostly chill and sparkly, but at times Tichauer brings a bit of heat into the nearly 90-minute mix. If you're nearby, catch Mr. Tichauer at one of his upcoming shows--it's guaranteed to be a good time.

The Kickoff: Isaac Tichauer - "Music To... Celebrate To"

Music to celebrate to... I was actually able to enjoy Labor Day by having the day off on Monday. So in the true holiday spirit, we're starting on Tuesday. By now everyone should understand my fan girl obsession for all things French Express and in particular my love for Isaac Tichauer. This is a great way to jump back into the weekly routine.

The mix starts off light and jazzy, then gets deeper and deeper as it progresses. What I'm really digging about this is that track after track, Tichauer maintains that jazz swing throughout the mix. It's quite pleasant. Pretty much everyone associated with French Express is known for being able to capture strong emotion and sentiment in house music. While there's still some emotion in these tracks, I feel like this mix is more carefree--maybe that's because we're celebrating. Listen and decide for yourself.

Isaac Tichauer - Deep House Amsterdam Mix #106

It's a new year, and my favorite French Express knight is back at the round table with more deliciousness. Last week Isaac Tichauer announced his new track "Changes," and this week he's partnered up with blog Deep House Amsterdam for a new mix. You can stream it for free here, or enter your email and snag a download.

Isaac's new track "Changes" is beautiful and will be available to buy on April 15th. Apparently French Express is no longer doing the free thing. I'm a little bummed, but I would have paid for everything to date, so whatever. You're definitely getting your money's worth. Keep reading to check out "Changes." 

Spring Cleaning: Eclecticism's Top Albums of 2013

Happy first day of spring! I had my top albums of 2013 list mostly finished, but kept "perfecting" it. Then it seemed like it was too late to post. Since spring cleaning is in full swing, I'm going to post it anyway. So let's take a trip back to 2013 and remember some fantastic tunes.

The Kickoff: Boiler Room LA French Express Takeover

Coming off an awesome past week, I'm happy to start this off with more French Express. Their North American Tour just ended, and I'm sure all the nights were as delicious as the night at Output in Brooklyn. In case you missed the festivities, the French Express Boiler Room takeover is finally available for everyone's eyes and ears. I almost forgot to check back for it. So not only do you get one mix this week, but you get four! There's one each from Perseus, Moon Boots, Isaac Tichauer, and Jonas Rathsman. All the videos can be watched on the Boiler Room website, but I've posted the audio here. Really that's all you need. The video honestly bothers me. Most of the people in the Boiler Room must be deaf, because they're barely breaking into a shuffle. It's pathetic. I hope the disco gods come after you.

Here's another fine mix from my favorite French Express knight, Isaac Tichauer. His distinct style of soulful deep house is simply irresistible, and this time we get 90 minutes. What makes this even better are the US tour dates that come as a bonus. Finally, I'll be able to see him dj with the French Express night. The lineup is rounded out by Perseus, Moon Boots, and Jonas Rathsman, so it's sure to be a great show! The tracklist will eventually be posted, but no word of when.

Isaac Tichauer has been on heavy rotation in my house over the past couple of weeks. Ever since French Express released his debut (and the label's debut) album, Devotion. I've been playing it a lot, usually on repeat. The funky, sassy deep house and spacey vocals are addicting! This mix is fantastic as well. It's an entire hour of delicious tracks blended together flawlessly. My car will appreciate the new treat.
