Detroit's Jimmy Edgar has a knack for funky fresh beats. His Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 takes us on a journey into the sounds of what inspired him. The mix starts of slow but then progresses into some revved up techno, house, R&B, and booty shakin' music. A whole bunch of unreleased tracks appear in the mix from Jimmy Edgar as well as other Ultramajic friends. Whatever you're doing right now, get ready to increase your party level tenfold.

I'm beginning to feel that summer heat. Mainly because the studio was a million degrees tonight. For those who were listening and are now reading my complaints, I apologize. Hopefully you enjoyed all the laid back beach vibes of tonight's show though. I meant to share that Koobra track a while back, but you can read about now.

Swedish duo Monitor 66 always knows how to throw down a good groove. Longtime followers of the show may remember a period of time a couple of years back where "Triscuits" appeared in nearly every episode of the show. It's a classic in my opinion.
So to start the week off, I'm feeling something sophisticated and ultra groovy. The boys put this together this mix along with an interview for Noisey. It's chill in some spots and dancey in others, so I think it's good for both the day and night people. Enjoy the mix and keep reading for the tracklist.

Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed tonight's show. Sorry for being so absent over the past few weeks. I've been in the process of moving, so now I'm at the point of unpacking and settling in. I expect to be more in touch over the next few weeks. Thanks for tuning in as always. Have a great week!

Generally I'm not a fan of mini mixes, but I'm always a fan of Grum. I'm also game for hearing "Tears" as much as humanly possible. This little mix he guest DJ'd for BBC Radio 1 is jam-packed with some the the biggest, most energizing house music you've ever heard. Whenever I listen to Grum, it just sends my heart racing and everything going on has to be next level. That also includes dancing, so get ready to break out your serious moves.
Grum is supposed to have another album coming out this year. That's definitely going to be something to keep an eye and ear out for. I can't wait!

Yes, it's May. Yes, this mix is from the beginning of April. Yes, it's time to party. That being said, Happy Cinco de Mayo! Even if your plans consist of a solo dance party in your bedroom, this is the perfect mix to throw into rotation during your nightly festivities.
Australia's Bag Raiders have put together something for the club, something to get you jackin' and moving your little feet. It's filled with lots of killer tunes, old and new. I've only ever seen Bag Raiders perform their own material live, but I really want to see them DJ now! You'll love this mix. Look for a new album from them soon!

Thanks for tuning in, as always. This was a really fun show. It started off kind of moody, then got kind of beachy, then back to the moody thing. I finally grabbed Grum's new "Tears," what a huge track! Supposedly there's an album coming. Look for that and enjoy your week!
