This week I'm craving a little Ibiza. My car thermometer hit 100 degrees today, so mother nature is literally turning up the heat over here. Thanks to Spirit Soul who posted this insane mix from Ordonez, considered to be one of the founders of electronic music in Ecuador. This mix contains more of a progressive style of deep house (which I thought I would find a bit lame), but it's just enough Ibiza for my palate. Perhaps even enough to want seconds. The car might be lucky enough to get a taste of this. Indulge!
Austrian duo Jakobin & Domino first came to me on the debut Luv Shack Records release, LUV001. I kept meaning to post my miscellaneous "Top 10 of 2012," but it never happened. Now it's too late. Sorry for bringing it up, but LUV001 made that list. The Luv Shack is out to set the world on fire. I should call this my "too hot for school" house. (Usually, I use cool.)
The week started off on a high note. I realized summer starts this week, we had nice weather here in Jersey, and my record player is finally fixed and ready for action! I'm thinking something to get a little fire going for the week? This would only be more perfect if I could play the mix on the record player, but whatever. Jakobin & Domino bring on the heat.

Do you ever have those phases where you need to change and redo everything? I've been having one of those months. Perhaps the urge was prompted by my recent move (hence no show or posts last week), but now "Mix Monday" is going to be "The Kickoff." Something to set the week off with the perfect groove.
Keeping with the new theme and kicking off the week, this is the first time I'm consciously posting about Majestique. This mix comes ahead of his debut on Eskimo Recordings, "Must Get There," a spicy little house disco number you'll surely hear on the show. What drew me to this mix was the promise of hearing the delicious, smooth, 80s-inspired synths of Touch Sensitive's "Pizza Guy." Keep reading for both of those.
