Mix Monday: Poolside - "Night People" mixtape

It's weird. My music energy was really feeling Poolside today. I jammed to a couple of Poolside tracks that I had in my iTunes, but new things are always awesome. This mix is also awesome, and I'm glad this happened today. It's amazing. Also, as a person of the night, I respect those who respect night people. This SoundCloud comment that popped up did a good job summing it up, "whats that smell? oh yeah, its sex on the beach."

Mix Monday: Le Crayon - Beware Mag Mixtape

Today, I am all about Le Crayon. He made this wonderful Metronomy remix and posted it for download today on SoundCloud. Because, I'm a music addict, one free download isn't enough. Thank god Le Crayon's got a bunch of tracks available to download. He's also got some mixes, which brings me to Mix Monday.

This mix is an overload of songs packed into about 20 minutes of funky electro and disco gold.  When I say overload, I'm not kidding -- 39 tracks total. It's such a rush, and my music a.d.d. satisfied. Enjoy, and happy Monday!

This is hawt! Finally, new Santigold. It's also available to download when you sign up for Santigold's mailing list on her website. That sounds like a good deal. I see that Switch and Buraka Som Sistema produced this little masterpiece -- thumbs up. Also, this video deserves mentioning. It's equally awesome.

Who Killed JR?

Who is JR?! Seriously, and why has he been killed? Maybe it's like that whole deal about how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop -- the world may never know. Anyway, today I came across Who Killed JR?, a remix duo from South Africa. Maybe it's something about this M83 song and how it plagues every aspect of my life with that squeaky vocal effect. It's so effin' brilliant. Every time I think it's gone, it comes back. This time, in the form of this remix by Who Killed JR?

Mix Monday: Oliver - Audio Speedwagon (Part One)

In celebration of their first release, "Dirty Talk", Oliver put together this mix of their favorite obscure italo, disco, and funk tracks. The energy of this mix is wonderful! I even whipped out the half finished bottle of champagne from New Year's that I found in the back of my fridge this morning. My only complaint about this mix is that it's about 30 minutes long. As soon as I finished off my glass of no-so-bubbly and got set into my groovy shuffle, the mix ended. Oh well, I'll blame the flat champagne.

Try getting this one out of your head. It's catchy as hell! Joe Goddard and Raf Rundell are killing it as The 2 Bears. "Bear Hug" was another infectious track. Mix Monday: Aeroplane - Best of Aeroplane's Soundcloud Mixes

The best thing about the new year is reflecting on all of the great things of the previous year. It's not that I enjoy living in the past, but rather the idea of thinking about all the good things you have in life. It always makes you feel good. Keeping with the good vibes, Aeroplane's latest mix features the best tracks from his Soundcloud mixes. This is such a groovy mix. I wish I had a tracklisting for it. In addition to the greatness of 2011, there's a new Aeroplane remix of "Sail Away" by The Rapture (around 41:00) that will be out on Jan. 12th. Let's keep up the good vibes 2012.
